A school counselor opportunity is available at a K-12 educational setting in Detroit, MI for the upcoming school year. This contract position focuses on providing comprehensive counseling services to middle and high school students, supporting their academic, college, career, and emotional development.
Work Schedule and Location:
- Monday through Thursday, with potential work one Friday per month
- 28 to 35 hours per week, with flexibility to work Monday through Thursday only if preferred
- Typical hours are 7:15 AM to 3:15 PM, including an unpaid lunch break
- Located within the Detroit, MI area, serving secondary students
Key Responsibilities
- Guide students through academic planning to help them meet graduation requirements
- Assist with college readiness and application processes
- Facilitate career exploration activities and resources to prepare students for post-secondary success
- Provide emotional support and counseling to address student social and emotional needs
